This is beautifully written Kat and I can only imagine how hard it must have been to part with those beautiful cows and your dreams for the farm. Your dad sounds very wise, I'll have to jot that phrase down. Jenny x

Bless your heart. I do not have any livestock other than my chickens but I could not do without them even though I am getting over-run with eggs at the moment. The hens will probably slow down once the daylight hours get less and less. There have been rumors of a shortage of Butter here in the States but so far all I have seen are price increases. Take life one day at a time and do what you can manage and hopefully things will fall in place. Best Wishes for your Fall & Winter.

Thank you I love your stories and reflections. I can so empathise with trying to own the gap between your thoughts and hopes and realities and have found it particularly true whilst watching my children become adults. I wish I could maintain the self-discipline to hold the wise words of your Dad “you can have anything you want but not everything”!
